ANU School of Art
The ANU School of Art within the Faculty of Arts, offers first-class facilities for visual arts, crafts, design, computer, video, and environmental teaching and research. The School is practice based and promotes quality professional activity, performance, exhibitions, visiting artists, field studies and international exchange. All students enjoy dedicated studio space and graduate students have the same access privileges to any of the courses and specialist facilities in the School’s Workshops and Studios as members of academic staff.
Workshops and studios
Programs are offered in all disciplines available in the School of Art Workshops; Ceramics, Glass, Gold & Silversmithing, Painting, Photomedia, Printmedia & Drawing, Sculpture, Textiles, Furniture and Art Theory. These are supported through specialist studies offered in the School’s Studios: Environment, Computer Art, Video Art, Papermaking and the Book Studio.
Academic Staff
The ANU School of Art’s academic staff are professionals practicing at the highest level and with specialised research interests. Their expertise is complemented by a range of national and international visiting artists in residence.
Resources
The ANU School of Art is well known for its excellent workshop, prototyping, inkjet research and computer facilities, masterclasses, specialist library and resource centre and artists-in-residence, the School of Art Gallery exhibitions, the Art Forum and visiting artists, guest lecturers and public programs. Linked with other ANU academic areas, activities such as conferences and seminars all contribute to a high quality student experience.

The ANU School of Art has established close working relationships with local, national and international institutions and arts organizations through its dynamic program of exchange, exhibitions, conferences and seminars and active participation in national arts events.
